HERE'S WHAT CHANGES.

We don't ask you to take our word for it. Every girl completes a check-in when she starts and a check-out when she finishes, using questions adapted from recognised confidence and wellbeing scales, and school staff give independent feedback. Here is what our programmes have shown so far.

52% to 83%

Confidence, safety and everyday skills, as a share of the maximum score

54% to 90%

Feeling safe day to day, the biggest rise of all

50% to 81%

Self-image: confidence and self-worth

And

  • Every girl who completed the programme improved her overall score. None went backwards.

  • Every girl said she now knows exactly what she would do if she felt unsafe.

  • Every girl would recommend it to a friend, and rated the coaches' support at the top score.

  • 5 out of 5 from school staff, on every measure: professionally and safely delivered, well suited to the group, trauma-informed approach handled appropriately, something the school could not provide itself.

One word to describe me now

CONFIDENT, POWERFUL, STRONG, FIT, CAREFUL

In their own words

  • The biggest thing I am taking from Fight Like a Girl is my confidence and feeling emotionally and physically strong.

    A girl on the programme
  • It makes me feel strong and confident. That I'm not weak.

    A girl on the programme
  • I'm more powerful and fit than you know.

    A girl on the programme
  • Believe in yourself and work hard and never give up.

    A girl on the programme
  • We did it!!!

What staff saw

  • Seeing the girls big each other up to take part in the walk-outs on the last week. The confidence those girls had built was amazing.

    Teacher
  • One student had previously made negative comments towards one of the other girls. By the end, she was encouraging her to take part, saying positive things to her face and when she wasn't there.

Our community told us

238 people responded to our community survey.Over 99% said a service like ours is needed.97% said projects like this should be funded.

Why it matters

Girlguiding found that 68% of girls and young women aged 11 to 21 changed their everyday behaviour in the past year to avoid sexual harassment. Behind every statistic is a girl who shrinks, goes quiet, or stops believing she can take up space. That's why we exist.
